Organic Certification Terms
What are the different organic terms and certifications?
Organic Soil Amendment: a product used to amend soil (not a fertilizer) so there are no label claims on Nitrogen or ingredient percentages.
Fertilizers list NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) and may be harsh on plants with over-use.
Organic Registration: a strict National Organic Standard that all states with an organic program, including OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute), must adhere to in order to register a product to be used for Organic Farming production.
Organic Certifiers: independent agencies assigned to organic farm growers to maintain the standard placed upon the growers.
Click here to view a list of Organic Certifiers available on the USDA website’s Organic INTEGRITY Database. Note: Non-organic farms do not require Organic Certifiers.
How does this apply to Soil Restoration?
Soil Restoration has formulated several products and maintains Organic Registrations in different states. We also have Non-Organic Registrations throughout the USA and Internationally.
